Do Cruises Now Require Passports?
By bluxed • Feb 5th, 2008 • Category: Cruises, NewsDear TripGuideBlog.com,
I am planning to go on a cruise very soon and not sure if i need a passport or not. I am having a hard time finding the information online. I am a U.S Citizen and plan to take my wife and I on a cruise to the Caribbean for our Anniversary. What documents do I need to have?
Thanks,
George
If you are going on a cruise between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda or the Caribbean you do not need a passport. As of January 31, 2008 all U.S. citizens will be required to show a government-issued ID (driver’s license), plus proof of citenship (birth certificate).
So as long as you have those 2 pieces of identification you can go on a cruise to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, or the Caribbean.
